The National Institute of Antimicrobial Resistance Research and Education (NIAMRRE), is pleased to announce Bio Nebraska—a nonprofit trade association dedicated to supporting, promoting, and growing Nebraska’s bio-ecosystem—as a new affiliate member.

“Antibiotic resistance is a global threat to human and animal health, and in addition to impacting society, AMR impacts industries like healthcare, veterinary medicine, and agriculture,” said Dr. Paul Plummer, the executive director of NIAMRRE. “Engaging with Bio Nebraska allows us to reach a greater audience in the biotechnology field—genomics, recombinant gene techniques, immunology, pharmaceutical therapies—and other bio-ecosystem industries to address this global health challenge.”

Founded in 2005, Bio Nebraska’s vision is to elevate Nebraska’s bio-ecosystem to benefit mankind by providing better healthcare, enhanced agriculture, and a cleaner and safer environment. They represent more than 90 bio-related entities in the human health, animal health, agriculture, and industrial biotech sectors.

Bio Nebraska joins NIAMRRE’s three other affiliate members, ten academic members, and seven startup industry members.

Membership is available to academic, industry (commodity groups, pharma and health organizations, and retailers), affiliate (government agencies, nonprofits, and member associations), and startup stakeholders interested in cross-sector engagement to address global AMR challenges. Applications are accepted year-round for organizations dedicated to advancing the One Health approach—a collaborative methodology to achieve optimal health outcomes between people, animals, plants, and their shared environment.
