The National Institute of Antimicrobial Resistance Research and Education (NIAMRRE)—an organization created in response to the 2015 U.S. National Action Plan for Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria to address antimicrobial resistance (AMR)—is pleased to announce NEOGEN Corporation (NEOGEN) (NASDAQ: NEOG) as a new member.
NEOGEN, established in 1982 in Lansing, Michigan, is an international company that works to protect and enhance food safety on a global level. Working within diagnostics, genomics, and prevention and mitigation, NEOGEN supports solutions for the entire food supply chain and beyond.
“One Health is a deeply varied and complex concept that involves many industries,” said NIAMRRE Executive Director, Dr. Paul Plummer. “NEOGEN’s diverse portfolio of products and their emphasis on partnerships and relationships underscores NIAMRRE’s approach to combating AMR in humans, animals, and the environment.”
NEOGEN joins NIAMRRE's diverse membership roster, with members representing academic institutions, commodity groups, pharma and health organizations, retailers, nonprofits and member associations, and startup companies. Organizations committed to cross-sector engagement to stop the spread of AMR may apply for membership. Members are accepted year-round for organizations dedicated to advancing the One Health approach—a collaborative methodology to achieve optimal health outcomes between people, animals, plants, and their shared environment.
