The February Member Spotlight featured new faces on the NIAMRRE staff and a preview of what's to come in 2023. Though Dr. Paul Plummer could not join the rest of the staff, each team member took a moment to introduce themselves and highlight what they are most excited about in 2024.
In the last six months, NIAMRRE has welcomed two new faces to the team. Hadley joined the team in September as the Communications Specialist. He has an extensive background in graphic design and marketing. Niki joined the team in November as the Member Development Specialist and has a marketing, strategy, and organizational leadership background.
- Dr. Kris Johansen, Associate Director of External Relations, shared she is most excited about the realization of the public/private AMR Dashboard project.
- Ali, the Research and Operations Administrator, expressed her excitement for the creation of a fee-for-service platform that will allow NIAMRRE to offer more programs and streamline payment operations for NIAMRRE.
- Dr. Sarah Al-Mazroa Smith, Education, and Training Coordinator, highlighted the 4H Youth program at Iowa State University, co-created with Dr. Amy Powell, that educates 4H participants on AMR regulations and responsible livestock stewardship. This program is soon to be a nationally syndicated 4H program.
In addition to new team members, NIAMRRE has also seen membership growth, now sitting at nearly 45 members; NIAMRRE continues to welcome new members each month.
