The National Institute of Antimicrobial Resistance Research and Education (NIAMRRE), is pleased to announce RTI International (RTI), an independent, nonprofit research institute, as a new affiliate member.

“Collaboration between organizations that excel in data management and technological development is crucial in our quest to discover new approaches to mitigating antimicrobial resistance,” said Dr. Paul Plummer, executive director of NIAMRRE. “RTI has tremendous capabilities in this area and will prove to be an invaluable partner for our member institutions as we seek to make advances that benefit human, animal, and environmental health.”

RTI joins NIAMRRE’s ten academic member institutions, two additional affiliate members, and four startup industry members.

“Antimicrobial resistance is a serious concern and a threat to human and animal health, and the environment. It requires multidisciplinary and innovative approaches to address it. RTI is delighted to be part of this distinct group of experts at NIAMRRE and looks forward to building strong collaborations to further advance the development of tools to fight antimicrobial resistance,” said Juliana Ruzante, Senior Food Safety and Public Health Scientist, at RTI and its appointed member at NIAMRRE.

Membership is available to academic, industry (commodity groups, pharma and health organizations, and retailers), affiliate (nonprofits and member associations), and startup stakeholders interested in cross-sector engagement to address global AMR challenges. Applications are accepted year-round for organizations dedicated to advancing the One Health approach—a collaborative methodology to achieve optimal health outcomes between people, animals, plants, and their shared environment.
