Dr. Alexandra Medley is currently the Associate Director for Antimicrobial Resistance for the CDC Division of Foodborne, Waterborne and Environmental Diseases (DFWED) where the focus is on enteric and fungal pathogens associated with food, water, animal contact or the environment. Prior to this role, Dr. Medley spent 3 years with DFWED working on global programmes, including for water and sanitation hygiene, and 2 years with the Division of Global Migration Health responding to Ebola virus disease, COVID-19, refugee health and the impact on animal movement on the spread of zoonotic diseases. Prior to CDC her work focused on global canine rabies prevention and control. Dr. Medley completed a Bachelors in Music at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, and is a The Ohio State University alum, where she completed both her DVM and MPH.
